NGT will rejoice and celebrate community gardens and highlight the benefits they bring to our city. Participating gardens will be open and offer visitors some activity between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Last year, participating gardens celebrated with a variety of welcoming activities, including:
- Garden work days
- Tours through the garden
- Demonstration/workshops (such as planting, passive composting, or pruning)
- Musical performances
- Arts & crafts activity for kids
- Resident “experts” available for questions and answers
- BBQs or just a hang-out for neighbors.
Please join us on June 20 to welcome friends and neighbors to explore and appreciate all your efforts, ideas and hard work by sharing your garden with others. NGT will offer participating gardens access to activity partners, volunteer recruitment and promotional support.
